The Panther
His vision, from the constantly passing bars,
has grown so weary that it cannot hold
anything else. It seems to him there are
a thousand bars; and behind the bars, no world.
As he paces in cramped circles, over and over,
the movement of his powerful soft strides
is like a ritual dance around a center
in which a mighty will stands paralyzed.
Only at times, the curtain of the pupils
lifts, quietly--. An image enters in,
rushes down through the tensed, arrested muscles,
plunges into the heart and is gone.
Rainer Maria Rilke

Hello,
I love this illustration of the Panthers behind bars. I have two requests:
1. Would you be willing to allow me to use this image in a slide show presentation regarding a program I'm implementing in a women's prison in Central California? Of course I would credit you beneath the image.
2. This is the sort of illustration that I originally envisioned for my book "The Lioness Tale" which is an allegory of a young lioness, captured in her youth and forced to live her life in captivity. The program I'm doing in the prison is based on the book.I still have hopes of having the inmates illustrate it for a second printing... but... perhaps you would be interested in some kind of collaboration? We are a non-profit. You can learn more about us and the program at www.thelionesstale.com
Thank you for your consideration,
diane
